What we do

What your Jandy warranty covers — before we schedule

The terms below are Jandy’s, not ours. We apply them; we do not write them. This is a plain-English summary — Jandy publishes the full limited warranty on its own support page, and that document governs. Jandy’s warranty is specific, and the surprises happen at the edges — worth two minutes before you call.

Covered: equipment bought from an authorized dealer, installed by a licensed and qualified pool professional, still with its first retail purchaser, at the original installation site.

Typical coverage periods: most products 1 year; variable-speed pumps 3 years; complete salt chlorine systems 3 years; heat pumps 2 years, with 5 years on compressors and heat exchangers; JXi heaters 1 year, with 5 years on heat exchangers fitted with VersaFlo bypass.

Not covered — the four that catch people out:

What we will need from you: proof of purchase, model and serial numbers, and the installation date.

So we check before we schedule. We confirm what is covered and what is not up front. If part of the work falls outside the warranty, you will know the cost before a technician is at your property.

If Jandy denies the claim, the work becomes a standard paid repair, quoted like any other job. We do not absorb denied claims — we are the service center, not the warranty provider, and we cannot approve what the manufacturer will not.

Your water chemistry can void the warranty

Jandy’s warranty does not just exclude damage from bad water — it publishes the exact ranges you have to stay inside. Equipment failures caused by water outside these are not covered, on any product, at any age.

Acceptable rangeIdeal
pH7.2 – 7.87.4 – 7.6
Total alkalinity80 – 120 ppm100 – 150 for vinyl
Calcium hardnessunder 800 ppm200 – 400 ppm
Cyanuric acid (CYA)30 – 100 ppm
Total dissolved solidsunder 1,500 ppm

In Jandy’s own words, the warranty excludes “corrosion, erosion, scaling, calcification or other conditions caused by water hardness, chemical imbalance, or lack of product maintenance.”

Ranges and exclusions on this page are summarised from Jandy’s published limited warranty. If Jandy revises it, their document is the one that counts.

And how you add chemicals matters too. Jandy specifically excludes damage from introducing chemicals upstream of the heater, through a cleaner hose, or through the skimmer. Concentrated chemistry moving through equipment does damage that looks exactly like ordinary failure — until someone reads the serial plate and the water test.

Why we tell you this up front. A heat exchanger destroyed by low pH fails the same way a worn-out one does. The difference is who pays. If your water has been out of range, we would rather say so before the claim than after it is denied.

More on keeping your water in range: alkalinity and your pool.
